Many advertising publishing networks determine popularity of a website by checking Alexa Ranking of a website. So, Alexa may not be providing accurate or exact visitors to a website, but it gives out an indication about popularity of the blog or website.

So, having a good Alexa ranking will ensure that your blog would be approved quickly in various advertising publishing network, as well as various directories. It is also a good show off! Alexa ranking is not based on quality visitors, but any visitor to the website. So, it is relatively easy to manipulate Alexa ranking to some extent.

There are tricks as in SEO, to improve Alexa ranking. Here are few of them :-

1. Install a Alexa Traffic Ranking widget on your blog. This will help Alexa track all of your visitor which in turn will help you increase Alexa ranking.

2. Using Alexa redirect link is another surest way of improving Alexa ranking. Instead of linking directly to your website from another website, one may use a Alexa redirect like http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.bloggeradda.com.

3. Comment on other blogs and leave a Alexa redirect link in your website link. You may also join many popular forums like Digital Point, Webmaster forum which will bring in visitors to your blog. Though these visitors may not be useful to your blog, but it will surely increase Alexa ranking.

4. Install Aelxa Toolbar. You can download it from www.alexa.com.

5. Submit your blog or website in many web directories. This will bring in few traffic which may increase Alexa ranking.

So, if a blog or website has good Alexa ranking, it can increase SERP too. It can bring in more and more visitor to the blog.

I am quite sure, everybody has heard about Google Analytics and must have been using it to check visitor count and other related visitor information. Google Analytics may not be the best visitor analysis tool for a website, but I think it is one of the best free tools available!

How to sign up for Google Analytics ?
You may signup Google Analytics for free with this link : http://www.google.com/analytics/. If you already have Google account, Google AdSense account, you just need to add Google Analytics to your account!

Installing Google Analytics
It is very easy to install Google Analytics. It is even easier to install in a WordPress self hosted blog. Google Analytics provides a small java script which needs to be put at the end of each an every page in your website. For a WordPress blog, footer.php is the file that is added to every page. And it is same for almost all well-organised website. Normally, they would have a footer page separately which is added to every page. So, you just need to copy the Google Analytics script and paste it just before the < /body > tag, and you are done! You can analyse multiple websites from one Google Analytics account.

How I use Google Analytics Data
Though Google Analytics provide various kind of user data, I majorly check Traffic Sources and Content.

Traffic Sources :
Here I check Referring Sites and Keywords. How search engines are sending visitor to my sites using which keywords!
Which are the sites, blog directories and where I left comments , are sending me traffic.

Content
Here I check top landing pages, Top Content. I get an idea how my posts are doing. Some does well, some does not do very well! But with these data, I can think of improving the writing and post. I also Check Landing Page Keywords and I think this is one data which is very important for anyone who takes visitors seriously!

There are many other data, analysis Google provides. But I religiously check those above data at least once in a week.

What is the relation between reading novels and blogging ? Very much! And if your blog is about love, romance and youth, you better start reading M&B ( Mills and Boon ) a.s.a.p. And hopefully, reading novel will develop your habit of reading!

Best way to leave your foot print in web world, quite literally, is leave behind witty one liner comments about any topic! Specially read websites, blogs related to your blog topic, mainly the blogs which are more famous than yours! Than leave very witty one lines! Many people read comments! And normally short comments, the first line! If the first line is interesting, they read further and if the like it, they will surely click on your name! Do I have to tell where your name should point ?

While watching movies, hear those one liners! See, you can use anything that you do or that happens to you, in your blog to make money! Comment with only witty lines and when you think you have the topic, and understood enough to comment on it, else don’t comment! Do not spam others blog! Or do not comment some stupid lines! Better keep your mouth shut, then write something and look stupid!, except when your blog is about stupidity!

Professional Looking Blog and a free offer is a killer combination for bringing traffic to your blog.

Well said! But how ? This is a tutorial how to give a professional look to your blog.

If you use WordPress for your blog, ( eve I use it), then you have a very easy option for giving a professional look to your website, for free too! Just avoid black ground, cluttered placing of images, use proper contrast with font color and back ground color, you have a decent looking Blog ready.

Now the free part! What can you offer free ? Offer something free which you have made! Not just copied from somewhere and you start offering! Easiest offering is, learn PHP, mySQL, very easy if you have little computer back ground, make a Wordpress Plugin or Wordpress theme, and offer free!
And if this sounds too difficult for you, choose something related to topic of your blog, for example, if your blog theme is mobile phone, you make a ring tone, offer people to download free!

If you liked the above scheme, you can just leave a comment of thank you and rate good about this article.

This is most challenging part of blogging after writing content for the blog!

You will find many blogs, web pages about tips, tricks, list to do, not to do for these! The more you read, the more you will get confused and realise that it is hard work just like any other offline marketing work.

In offline world, you need a good product, target market, promotion, advertising, and make the final sale, take the payment check, and final credit to your bank account! Almost the same is true for blogging too!

I have read many articles about bringing traffic to your new blog, and read almost the same things again and again in different language, numbering in the list.

The bottom line is : Work Hard. And wait for result.

I will also compile a list of bringing traffic to a new blog once I am able to bring few traffic to this new blog of mine .

And what is the relation between traffic and making money online ? A simple math, for every 100 page views, you normally get .5 click. That is for every 1000 page views, you get 5 clicks on your blog! 5 clicks can convert to $1 depending on value of those advertisement! So the simple mathematics is, more traffic, more clicks, more money to you.
