There are many blogs about blogging, using blog to make money online. All seem to be anonymous one one line :-
Ranking on top in search engines brings in visitors and from those organic visitors, a “blogger make money”.

So, making money using a blog is only two step process :-

1. Rank at the top of the search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing.
2. Make money from the visitors from search engines.

The big question, for the both questions : HOW ?

The simplest way to rank at top in search engines, seems to be “impress upon” search engine officer and get your website listed at the top. Even for two hours a day should bring enough visitors to your blog!

Now about the other step #2. How does one earn from blog visitor ? Do you keep a Donate button and they would start donating with their credit card helping you earn online ?

No, no visitor will do that, may be if you are not His Highness Dalai Lama! Or may be, if you are a political leader likely to become the next head of the state, people will flock to your site and donate! But how do we normal people like us exploit visitors to make money from them ?

While few of your blog visitor may click on your affiliate links which one puts prominently at the right bar of the blog, most of them would not do such a thing. You may have put Google AdSense advertisements at prominent places, may have even tried doing many experiments by placing them here and there, putting inside blog post, blending with contents, but you will not make enough to boast about them that your blog visitors from search engines click your ads and help you make money!

So, how does one make money when they have many visitors ? Well, advertisements! But they are direct advertisers who are related to your blog, and they pay you real money and a amount which you can boast of making money online.
