Many Blogger earn online by selling WordPress themes on their blog. Yes, they earn by selling their own premium WordPress theme if they have some unique design. Or they sell others WordPress theme by becoming Affiliate seller of those premium theme.

To become affiliate seller of  any premium theme, you even need not buy the theme yourselves! Though if you do not yourself use the theme for your site and write a sale pitch by writing very good review article about the usefulness of the theme, it may sound hollow! Also you buy the premium theme yourself, you can put up a page which will become a menu on top of your blog as “Get This Theme” and in that page, you may write a very good sale speech for the theme! I do not know how much money one can make a month by selling WordPress themes, but this achieves two purposes.

1. A blogger normally is always looking for a better theme.  So, he may be searching for WordPress theme in various search engines. If you write articles reviewing WordPress Themes, it may generate visitors to your blog if not all buyers. Wordpress  Theme, I think the most widely used and most popular WordPress theme, produces more than 64 million search results and searched almost 500,000 a month globally! So, one can surely expect few visitors if one writes few good WordPress Theme articles on his blog.

2. You will find a very good theme for your blog which you will be able to keep for a year without having to change it. Changing theme of a site frequently may effect SERP. So, it is advised that one should choose a good theme with good usability, aesthetics and good SEO ( Search Engine Optimization) , though not necessarily a premium theme!

Selling WordPress theme is just like joining any other affiliate programs. Many premium WordPress theme sites offer 30% to 50% affiliate share and premium themes cost around 50% to $100. So if a blogger can sell even 10 WordPress Theme, he would make around $250 month which may take care of his blog hosting expenses!

So, selling premium WordPress theme on a blog is good way earning online for a blogger, specially for those who uses premium WordPress theme themselves.  But even they, who use free WordPress theme can sell premium WordPress them on their blog.
