Many online guru will tell you why and how SEO is very, very important for your website, or blog! But is it that important ? What is SEO actually ? Ranking top on search engine results for certain keywords for your blog or website without paying the search engine ? Now how do you blog and choose your keywords for the blog ? or keywords decide your blog topic ?

Lemme give you a figure.

Before problogger.net cam into being, I do think think anyone bothered to search problogger on Google! now the word problogger is searched 2700 alone on Google a month, techcrunch is searched 165,000 times a month, wordpress is searched 7.4million a month!

Would you have searched those words ( keywords ) if you had not known those sites existed ? I do not believe any normal person would make up those words and search on internet!

So, were they keywords ? Did not those sites make them keywords which people search ? The owner of those sites would be able to tell you, how much visitor they get a month who search their domain name without www and com, .net ! But I think it would be at least 50% of the search volumes! All organic visitors, coming from search engines!

So is keyword that important ? Don’t you think patience and hard work is more important ? Patience, hard work and then wait for result when your domain becomes a brand to search for!

What will happen if Microsoft site is listed on first 2/3 positions when searched for the keyword ‘microsoft’ ? Nothing will happen to Miscrosoft, but the search engine who failed to list Microsoft sites will surely disappear in months!

Most probably, if you ave some money to pay those SEO gurus, or buy SEO books, you should spare some money for direct search engine marketing! And see the difference on your own! If some one wants to get listed quickly on search engines without paying anything, he should get is IQ checked!

So, if you want to bring visitors to your blog, concentrate more on doing your own job, rather than trying out SEO tricks! That is writing good articles and publish them on your blog regularly.

Do not spend sleepless nights on trying to hard to bring visitors to your blog trying out every tricks and tips found on as many blogs or websites. You would be making SEO gurus richer, bring visitor to their sites. Lets have faith in search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing that they do their job and find our content on their own and display! After all, are not they investing huge amounts for finding out and presenting useful information to users of their site ?
