Jawaharlal Nehru the first prime minister of India was lovingly known as Chacha Nehru by the kids for his strong advocate towards children’s education. he was a great leader of independent India. He was born on 14th November 1889. He became the first prime minister of India and also he was a poet some opt his writings are ‘discovery of India;, ‘glimpses of world history’, etc. He was involved in the establishment of the Indian institutes of management IIM, the Indian institutes of technology IIT, and the national institute of technology NIT. He emphasizes the growth and welfare of the young generation and their mind. 14th November is the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru and every year on this children’s day is been celebrated in India as we all know well Chacha Nehru was fond of children.
The first-ever bal divas were celebrated in 1954 and the idea behind the celebration was given by Mr. v.k. Krishna Menon .it is celebrated all over India.
Children’s day is also known as bal diwas in Hindi where ‘bal’ means children and divas means occasion. On the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, every year 14th November is celebrated as children’s day giving a tribute to him and also remembering his love and concern towards the children. He worked for the growth and welfare of the young generation and also for the progress of the children as he uses to say that they are future of the nation. He was known for his work and believe towards the education, growth, and development of the children. He was very much fond of children and for that reason, he is famous for the name Chacha Nehru. Organizing such events and doing such activities for entertaining the children and paying tribute to the great leader of India. Various schemes are being introduced by many governments and non-government organization on this day for the welfare of the children.
Chacha Nehru believed that the children the core foundation of the nation and the future of the nation. The great leader of India is no more but his thoughts are still alive within the Indians. This day reminds us of the importance of children and their education.
Back from 1956, the day is celebrated as children a day or bal diwas all over India paying tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary and it is a day to aware the people about the importance of child education. Bal divas earlier were celebrated on 20th November with universal children day of the United Nations but after the death of Pandit Nehru, a resolution was passed in the parliament to celebrate 14th never the birthday anniversary of him as children’s day giving him farewell.
He played a great role in the development of the education system of India and also shaping the education system. He was very affectionate but the children and he is no more but he believes and thoughts are still alive and being remembered by the Indians. He brought revolution in the field of child education.
